Firefighters Children's Parade Rules
1. This year's theme is "A Salute to Science Fiction" and all float decorations and costumes should be theme-related and appropriate for a children's parade.

2. Absolutely NO alcohol is to be consumed by anyone participating in any way in the parade.
3. The floats shall be no higher than 8 feet from the deck, unless otherwise approved in advance by the FFCPK committee. There will be a limited number of floats allowed in the parade.
4. Applicant must provide an adequate pickup truck to pull their float. Each float is required to have 6 to 8 adults walking along the side of the floats to supervise the children throwing items, as well as to carry restraining poles alongside of the float. This is for the safety of everyone involved. It is also strongly recommended that all adults be in theme-related costume.
5. Applicant must have a 2 inch trailer hitch on the truck to pull the float, as well as safety chains. All vehicles are subject to inspection.
6. Floats must have 3-4ft tall walls.
7. Applicant must provide a fire extinguisher for float.
8. There will be no more than 10 small children (ages 6 - 14) and no more than two adults riding on each float.
9. NO ONE is to ride in the back of any trucks pulling the floats.
10. NO ONE is to be hanging over the side of the floats.
11. All floats MUST be in the parade line-up by 1:30 PM, Sunday, March 2, 2025. Line-up will be on 25th Street and Santa Fe Place. Please check-in at registration table before lining up. Floats may be disqualified if not ready to depart by 3 PM.
12. The drivers of the vehicles must provide a copy of the vehicle's liability insurance as well as his/her driver's license when submitting the registration forms. These copies are a requirement of the City of Galveston. The driver of the vehicle is not permitted to throw beads at anytime, and no one is to throw beads out while the parade is not moving.
13. There will be positively no switching of children on or off floats during the parade.
14. No animals are allowed to participate in this parade, unless prior written approval by the FFCPK committee is obtained.
15. No two-wheel bicycles, roller-skates, or skateboards are allowed in the parade, unless prior written approval by the FFCPK committee is obtained.
*In order to maintain a safe environment for our children, all rules will be strictly enforced. Failure to comply with these rules will result in your loss of position in the parade, as well as the opportunity to participate in future events. Fees will not be returned. Our mission is to provide a safe environment for our children, while giving them a chance to enjoy the excitement of participating in a Mardi Gras parade.
